Amigas de la Comunidad:
- Built a network of attorneys, notaries, and Spanish-speaking volunteers to provide legal clinics to prepare families in case of detention or deportation.
- With the Appleseed Network, assisted in the development of a Deportation Guide for families.
- Hosted a train the trainer Know Your Rights workshop with United We Dream.
- Hosted two clinics to complete forms such as a Power of Attorney in case of detention/deportation.
- Hosted a winter donation drive that supported 52 families. Donations included: diapers, books, winter clothes, shoes, household items, and toys.
- Partnered with ACPS to support families to register for preschool and kindergarten. Provided referrals for children with additional needs.
- Hosted meeting with education leaders and policymakers to share findings from research and discuss policy implications.
- Created an emergency fund and fundraised through GoFundMe funds for community emergencies.
AFAM Project:
- Hosted “Money Matters: A Workshop on Credit, Debt, Home Buying and Family Finance” presented by a financial counselor.
- Hosted a workshop on self-regulation teaching techniques for Boys & Girls Club staff and community members.
