Latina immigrant mothers comprise the Amigas de la Comunidad community advisory board (CAB), which is situated in Arlandria, Virginia. The CAB’s leadership and support enables:
- Conducting surveys with Latina mothers of young children to understand their child care and family needs as well as emergent family reunification, housing, and health concerns.
- Interpreting survey and data results.
- Assisting immigrant families seeking to access services, including early childhood care and education (ECCE), health care, and supports for their children by “spreading the word” about resources and assisting with applications when appropriate (modeled after Promotoras de Salud).
